Denise Romecki ceramic sculpture

Memories of the Gulf  was inspired by the wildlife that suffered as a result of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  I wanted to draw attention to the beauty and importance of the animals and environments that are at risk by depicting them in a dignified or ennobled narrative.  To say these things are precious and we need to be careful if they are to survive.
